Reviving a City’s Economic Engine: The COVID-19 Pandemic Impact and the Private Sector’s Engagement in Bandung City

The COVID-19 pandemic has not only affected public health but also significantly impacted the economy. Bandung, a bustling city in Indonesia serving as satellite to capital, been hit hard due its high population density, mobility, and reliance on tourism, trade, transportation sectors. Using Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model developed at interregional level of Indonesia, this study investigates microeconomic indicators several economic activities namely, transportation, accommodation food–beverage, water supply, trade (MSMEs) sectors, assess impact pandemic. Additionally, examines role private sector actors contributing sustainable recovery efforts toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) amidst findings reveal that Bandung’s accommodation, food beverage, sectors experienced significant decline activity. However, there was gradual recovery, with increased activity between 2019 2021. Private were main drivers other effort.
